Space as Composition
In this apartment in Oranienburg, clear geometries meet warm materials and selected color accents. Clear forms and deliberately placed colors recall the formal language of the Bauhaus and are reinterpreted with warm materials. Custom-made elements and individual, characterful pieces of furniture create a calm order in which every object finds its place and its effect.
In the living area, wood, natural stone, and understated textiles form the base. Strong colors appear deliberately and selectively in art, furniture, and objects. In the bedroom, too, the design remains reduced. Natural materials and simple forms are complemented by playful details, taking the severity out of minimalism.
The hallway becomes an independent art space and forms a deliberate contrast to the brighter living areas. Walls, ceiling, and doors receive the same wood paneling and merge into a monolithic volume. The lighting is not merely functional but itself part of the art installation. Targeted lines of light structure the narrow space, alter its perception, and stage two integrated niches with colorful Bauhaus objects.
The hallway thus provides a surprising final note and gives the apartment's restrained design an almost theatrical dimension.
